How All Things Norfolk will be Supporting Local Independent Businesses
We set up All Things Norfolk many years ago with the aim of promoting the use of local independent businesses in Norfolk and with your support whether it has been from our valued business members, event organisers, contributors or readers we have evolved All Things Norfolk into the popular site you see today showcasing all things Norfolk!  We are a small local independent business run by Norfolk people, based in Norfolk and not many people know (those who do are usually shocked) we also combine running All Things Norfolk with other jobs in various industries (we would love to do this full time one day with a nice office) but we are very passionate in what we do and we are lucky to be supported by volunteers who also love all things Norfolk.

Over the past few days, like everyone, we have been very concerned as to what will happen to local independent businesses over the forthcoming weeks but also inspired and in awe of the innovative way local businesses are fighting back. For instance just from some of our business members we have Howard and Son Fishmongers offering home deliveries, Lisa Redford who is a music teacher offering lessons via Skype and Paul Dickson Books is offering free delivery. All Things Norfolk relies on a thriving community of local independent businesses as we do not allow any banner advertising promoting non Norfolk businesses and even though we have been offered for what our business are large sums to promote national chains on our site due to the volume of hits our site receives we have always politely said no.

In recent days we have battled with many ideas as to how we can help support local independent businesses with the capabilities that we have at All Things Norfolk and we very much hope that the offers of support detailed below will help in a small way local independent businesses in Norfolk as well as valuing our existing business members whose loyalty to us over the years is never taken for granted. This may seem a small gesture by some but for a business like ours it is a massive commitment but it is something we want to do to ensure we play a small part in supporting local independent businesses in their time of need and goes some way in thanking everyone for the support they have shown us over the years and hopefully many more years to come!
