Warm, encouraging and supportive, I’m a professional vocal coach and guitar teacher. With years of recording, touring and performing experience, I love sharing my skills and passion for music, offering singing and guitar lessons in Norwich, Norfolk, UK for all ages.

I can tailor the lesson for you in a fun, relaxed environment that also ensure you’re equipped with a range of techniques.

Vocal Coach

I can help you prepare for an upcoming audition or performance and learn various vocal techniques and exercises. You can also record your vocals and make quality demo recordings. I can also help you with your nerves, breathing and help build your confidence. In 2015 one of my talented vocal students, Breeze Redwine, won the Pre Teen Award at TeenStar, the UK’s biggest search for teenage and pre-teen singers at Birmingham’s NEC. She also achieved the highest score of the night from the prestigious industry judges and beautifully performed my song ‘Here Alone’

In 2016 she released her debut single called ‘Courage’ which I wrote for her.  The music video has had thousands of views on YouTube and is released on iTunes through Proper.

She also recently won many awards at the World Championships of Performing Arts, an international performing arts talent competition and educational experience held annually in Hollywood. Among her many achievements, Breeze won 4 Golds, 2 Silvers and Overall Champion twice. She also won an Industry Award, meaning she is most likely to make it in the music industry.

“Lisa has been an amazing vocal coach to my daughter Breeze. She has been having lessons for over 2 years and worked wonders with Breeze’s confidence, performance, breath control and vocal ability. She’s guided her through difficult songs and different styles while being constantly supportive and encouraging as well as regularly sending exercises and backing tracks. She has provided invaluable guidance and support for when Breeze has had major auditions in London and across the UK and Breeze recently won the Pre Teen Award at the prestigious national Teen Star competition at Birmingham’s NEC. Lisa has also been teaching Breeze guitar and she is already on her way to playing lots of songs. Thank you Lisa. We couldn’t have done it without you.” Jackie Redwine

Guitar Lessons and Ukulele

Testimonials

“Since having singing lessons with Lisa, I’ve noticed dramatic changes in my voice, for example I always used to sing from my throat and I’d run out of breath very, very quickly. Lisa has sent me vocal exercises and backing tracks to practise at home, which I find very useful in preparation for the next lesson. It’s a great hobby, and it’s something that I look forward to doing each fortnight, which is quite funny because I actually have a singing phobia, but Lisa’s teaching style puts me at ease. Ann Marie Harrison

”Lisa has really helped me with my vocals and given me so much more confidence with my singing. She has shown me some great vocal techniques which have really improved my singing.” Kate Yuill

“Before I started having singing sessions with Lisa, I didn’t feel confident anymore at my ability to sing. Since having the sessions with Lisa, she has helped me to gain my confidence back, she is friendly and approachable. She has shown me how to strengthen my breathing skills and support my core vocal ability and head voice. Sharing her vocal warm ups and techniques to attempt some challenging songs…Lisa is helping me to prepare for a big audition and thanks to Lisa the song I have chosen is broadening my vocal ability to a higher standard, Lisa is being patient and providing me with some really supportive feedback to progress further.” Rachael Francis

“My 10 year old daughter, Saskia, has been having guitar and singing lessons with Lisa. Within weeks of starting she went from not being able to play a thing to singing and playing many of her favourite songs.  Since then she has gone from strength to strength.  Lisa has been a real inspiration to Saskia.  She knows how to connect with children.  She’s vibrant and fun but at the same time nurturing and attentive.  It’s a real pleasure to hear my daughter perform.  Thanks Lisa.” Kerry Williams

“I have been attending vocal lessons with Lisa for about a year now, as a student at Access To Music I was looking for some extra support with my vocals. Lisa is honest, patient and understanding of my vocal needs. I have learnt what my voice is capable of, breathing technique’s and warm up exercise’s. All of these contribute to my new found confidence with regards to my singing. I would highly recommend Lisa for all your vocal needs.” Karl Moore

Located in the North Norfolk village of Roughton, I offer bespoke Guitar Tuition to players of all ages and abilities, whether you're an absolute beginner, an intermediate player who just lacks direction, or an advanced guitarist looking to improve your technique.

My speciality is Classical Guitar, and to date I have entered well in excess of 200 candidates for Trinity College graded examinations, with a 100% pass rate, from initial to grade 8.  Whilst many players love to work towards their grades, some players simply enjoy playing for the love of the music, and tailored lessons mean that these students can learn whatever style inspires them.

Also available are acoustic and rock guitar lessons, particularly useful for those wanting to play in a band or write their own songs.

What is Westacre?  What happens at Westacre and when?  Where is Westacre?  Well, a warm welcome awaits you at Westacre Theatre which has been offering inspiring, inclusive and creative excellence in the heart of West Norfolk for over a quarter of a century.  And Westacre Theatre is probably the only all year-round rural performance venue anywhere in East Anglia.

Why?  You find Theatres in towns and cities – where there are lots of people.  But Westacre is different.  In rolling countryside, Westacre Theatre’s scenic setting comes complete with landscaped lagoon.  In the Summer, the sheltered South-facing terrace hums with audiences eager with anticipation.

Centrally located just 10 minutes’ drive from Swaffham, 20 minutes from King’s Lynn, and within half an hour of Downham Market, Watton, Dereham, and Fakenham it is easily accessible to most communities in West Norfolk.

But tucked away in peace and solitude; it remains one of West Norfolk’s best kept secrets.  And once found, everyone always says how lovely it is and ‘Why didn’t we know about Westacre before?’

Westacre attracts all-comers so the volunteers, cast and crew are a happy band performing vital roles in its varied activities.  Many of the team are long-serving troopers; once at Westacre people tend to stay for the friendship and fulfilment.

West End this is not and nor does it pretend to be.  But The Westacre Theatre Company perform regularly to great acclaim – straight plays of immense integrity and magical musicals too.  As you may expect, Westacre Theatre is more than just a stage.  You can hear every word and see every movement from any of its 80 seats.  The fully-equipped studio theatre is central to its all-inclusive ethos but there are many other parts too.  And the sum of those parts is greater than the converted Chapel where Westacre Theatre was born 25 years ago and is truly a tardis.

Its own in-house productions are complemented by sourcing the very best Live! and Encore screenings via satellite from the likes of National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare, The Globe and Matthew Bourne.  Fans of mainstream cinema are catered for under the Wednesday Flicks banner showing a carefully selected programme of contemporary films.

The Riverside Café-Bar serves relaxing drinks, light lunches and simple suppers.  The light and airy Foyer Gallery hosts a continuous back-to-back varied programme of exciting art exhibitions from both up-and-coming and established artists based locally and further afield.  Drama workshops are held weekly and in school holidays for young people from 6 to 18 years old.  Popular art and craft master-classes are all in the repertoire and often over-subscribed.

There is ample free off-road parking (with surfaced spaces by the door for the less mobile).  A flat floor throughout (including for a universal access loo) goes right to your front row seat in the Studio Theatre.  Give us a look to see what we mean.

  • W = Wednesday Flicks - The best of contemporary cinema
  • E = Education – Classes in art, crafts and play reading; Bursaries for fortunate students
  • S = Screenings – The satellite link brings world class performances to our full-size screen
  • T = Theatre – Take your pick from well-known favourites or more challenging drama
  • A = Acting – For ages 6 to 18 to create drama without a crisis in weekly drama classes, half term and summer workshops
  • C = Café-Bar – Relaxing drinks at all our performances with light lunches and pre-performance suppers at selected shows – they are very popular so advance booking is wise
  • R = Riverside Walk – A short wander from our sheltered terrace takes you to the tranquil River Nar
  • E = Exhibitions – Artists of all abilities display their latest work in the three distinct spaces open at performance times

Performances and activities are presented in three seasons each year so there is always something new about to take off. www.westacretheatre.com is constantly updated so a visit there will provide you with the pointers you need about what is in store.  But keep checking because fresh productions are being added all the time.  And the value-for-money ticket prices have to be seen to be believed.

Westacre Theatre is overseen by a charitable foundation so all the support you give to Westacre (just by enjoying a cup of freshly brewed filter coffee, or acquiring that piece of art which caught the corner of your eye) will all go to the worthwhile cause of keeping Westacre Theatre sustainable and alive for the next generation.  The cast and crew is a tiny team but they certainly make it all happen.  Now they are on your radar, do different and try the Theatre that is different too.

Paul Thomas, owner of Whitehouse Publishing and author of the romantic adventure, and fantasy novel Changing Colours, lives in Coltishall, Norfolk – and loves the county which has been his home and business base for more than half a century.

He has been a global publicist, film-maker, former Fleet Street journalist and learned life from 17 as a cub, reporter in East London where he covered many stories in the days of the notorious Kray Twins, gangsters who prospered but nonetheless kept the East End free of “others’ evil”.  “I got my degree in street wisdom thanks to them,” laughs Paul.

Turning evil to good is one of the fascinating themes of Changing Colours which traces the life of a young girl growing up, targeting world success as a singer, arriving in London for a total change in her image – and what happens then?   Romance, drama, mystery… and then?

Reviewers mark its “rags to riches stardom, heady romance and ancient myth” with a finale “as unpredictable as it is intriguing.”

If you want to create your own memory of your visit to Norfolk you can take part in one of Linda's painting workshops, offered all year round either at her studio, abroad or your own venue.

Having worked as a full time artist and tutor for over 15 years, Linda has studied Teaching Through Creative Practice & Process at the University of East Anglia.  Inspired by everything around her, she prefers the freedom of painting from life, en plein air, in the countryside of Norfolk, France and Morocco. As it evolves her work it is looser in style and brighter in colour  her philosophy is "Where ever you look there is something to paint".

Linda, writes for Leisure Painter Magazine, had work selected for exhibition at the Designer & Artists Copyright Society in London, has tutored for Artist & Illustrator Magazine, as well as her own workshops. Linda is an associate tutor at Flatford Mill and Epping Forest for the Field Studies Council and for Shades of France
