The 21st Macmillan Charity Golf Day was held at Barnham Broom Golf Club in October 2019, where over 100 golfers turned out to support the charity.
The event was made possible through the support of Barnham Broom, local companies and individuals alike.
After golf on the 18-hole Valley Course, a dinner was held along with an auction and raffle together with a variety of donated rounds of golf from many Clubs which were sold by silent auction.
Organiser Graham Knights, who is an Ambassador for Macmillan in Norfolk, commented that the amount raised between this event and other fundraising for Macmillan throughout 2019 now equals a grand total of £17,640 – a truly impressive amount made possible by Mr Knights’ hard work and the support of Barnham Broom Golf Club.
From today, foodies can enjoy a special lunch time experience at Barnham Broom with the newly launched Prix Fixe lunch menu.
The stylish yet relaxed Brasserie restaurant has a new offering with this new lunch menu which features locally-sourced ingredients and outstanding flavours which have been carefully curated by Head Chef, Mark Elvin.
Mark says:“Norfolk is blessed with excellent produce throughout the region, from the plentiful pastures to the wealth of fish and seafood caught off the north Norfolk coast. Wherever we can, we use local ingredients in our dishes to ensure you get the very best our fantastic region has to offer.”
This philosophy has seen the restaurant go from strength to strength with seasonal menus throughout the year, with is complimented by the use of local suppliers and the front of house team.
Barnham Broom’s Executive Head Chef, James Conway, has been an avid supporter of Norwich City Football Club over the years and was, like so many, over the moon when Norwich was promoted to the Premier League on Saturday after beating Blackburn 2-1.
To celebrate, Barnham Broom, which is famous for its expertly crafted afternoon teas, is serving a Canaries themed afternoon tea throughout May. Delicious cakes, reflecting the green and yellow of the team, have been designed by James Conway and his team of pastry chefs.
The afternoon tea includes a selection of finger sandwiches, including a lightly spiced green and yellow hummus sandwich, and freshly baked cherry scones and a savoury scone of cheese and sun-blush tomatoes.
