Gardening Necessities to Add to your Collection this Summer

With hot weather on the horizon, it’s time to get your Norfolk garden into shape. Bartram Mowers has compiled a list of the essential gardening equipment you need.

With summer just around the corner, gardeners all over Norfolk are out in force pruning, planting and preparing ready for the sunny season. But is your garden up to scratch?

Whether your lawn is in need of a bit of TLC or your hedge is due a makeover, fear not. In this blog post Bartram Mowers, who has provided garden machinery to customers in Norfolk and Suffolk since 1972, outline some of the must-have tools, parts and equipment you should add to your collection this summer.

Lawnmower blades

If you have a lawn, the chances are you own a lawnmower. But what a lot of people don’t realise is that having the best lawn isn’t just about owning the best model and spec of mower. Like all machines, mowers are subject to wear and tear, and things like the blades need replacing every now and then to keep them performing to their full potential.

Lawnmower blades work hard to keep your grass looking its best, so it’s unsurprising that they blunt, erode and get damaged with time. All of this can affect both the performance of your mower and the quality of lawn cut.

So, if you want a pristine lawn in time for summer, it’s important to replace your old, rusty blades with shiny, sharp new ones.

Strimmer

If you’ve cut your lawn to perfection, you’re going to need a strimmer to tidy up the edges. Irrespective of your lawnmower make or model, it’s impossible to get every strand of rogue grass that grows around your lawn perimeter or up against your garden shed.

Strimmers allow you to sharpen up the edges with ease for a professional lawn cut–something sure to catch the eye of admiring visitors!

Strimmers are a popular piece of gardening equipment, and there are numerous makes and models available on the market, from Bosch to Flymo. The strimmer make and model best for you will depend on your specific needs, including garden size, ease of use and price point and power type.

Sprinkler

If you’ve gone to the effort of getting your lawn into shape, the chances are you want to keep it that way. The thing is, in the hot summer months, this can be easier said than done. Watering your grass is one of the only solutions to keeping it protected from the dry, hot days, but it isn’t practical or water-efficient to constantly hose your lawn.

That’s where sprinklers come in. Sprinklers can moisten your lawn with just enough water to keep your grass in perfect health, even in the midst of a British heatwave. There are plenty of sprinklers on the market, from circular to oscillating. What’s more, many sprinklers can be set up to a timer saving you the job of remembering to turn it on and off!

Pressure washers

You can be forgiven for thinking that a pressure washer isn’t a garden tool—but that’s where you’re wrong. Pressure washers are one of the most versatile tools for a gardener, and they can make a world of difference to your outdoor space.

From giving your paving slabs a new lease of life to removing the grime from your shed, decking and outdoor furniture, a pressure washer can instantly transform the appearance of your garden and leave it looking brand new ready for summer.

There’s plenty of options for you to choose from too. From Bosch to Karcher, top brands stock numerous models of pressure washer suitable for every budget.

These garden must haves can overhaul your outdoor space and give your neighbours serious garden envy. By investing in the right tools, equipment and parts, you can have an outdoor space to be proud of,

So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to update your garden kit ready for summer!
