Leeway will be using their share of the money to pay for internet provision for the people who use their services so that they can contact loved one's, access jobs, as well as completing housing and grant applications. The Mill, which is maintained by volunteers, will be putting the money towards further restoration and repairs.
Chet Chat also received £800 from the tearoom Spooncake raised by making facemasks that they sold on the premises. ChetChat also received support for the walk both financially and practically from 3 businesses in the area namely Musker Mcintyre, Rosie Leas Tearoom and Miniature World. The Walk, which took place on Sunday 5th September, concluded at the mill with entertainment provided free by The Saxonettes and Funky Feet as well as support and help from volunteer stewards, first aiders, and people baking cakes to raise funds.
Isobel Thomas from Chet Chat said that 'We were delighted with the turn out and how much money has been raised' and that she was 'really grateful to everyone for their support'. She added that she would 'love more people who have any free time to get involved with us as well'.
