UEA Choir and Symphony Orchestra concert - Verdi Requiem
24 March 2017 19:30
St Andrew's Hall
UEA Choir and Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Tom Primrose (Choirmaster), warmly invite you to join them for a performance of Verdi's celebrated Requiem on Friday 24 March at 7.30pm at St Andrew's Hall, Norwich.
Verdi's Requiem is amongst the richest and most revered works in the choral repertoire. Conceived first as a collaborative project to commemorate Rossini, it became instead Verdi's personal tribute to the writer Alessandro Manzoni, whose ardent support for Italian unification Verdi shared. The Requiem acted as a lens, focusing Verdi's work through the personal, the political and the spiritual, bringing his enormous experience to bear on a moment in time that has become a vision of eternity.
UEA Choir and Symphony Orchestra will be joined in their performance by prize-winning soloists Emily Garland (soprano), Claire Barnett-Jones (mezzo-soprano), Richard Dowling (tenor) and Keel Watson (bass).
Ticket cost: West Gallery £12 - £8, Stalls £8 - £4 and Side Aisles £4. Please see the venue layout for seating areas. Tickets are available to purchase by phone or in person from Prelude Records (01603 628319) and St George's Music Shop (01603 626414). Tickets are also available to buy online.
